Michal ChesalMichal Chesal is a mompreneur who co-founded the Florida-based juvenile products company Baby K’tan, LLC with her business partner, Isaac Wernick. It all started with her desire to provide her son, Coby, born with Down syndrome, with the sensory nourishment he required for optimal development, while also wanting to carry him as much as possible for parent-child bonding. Thus, the first prototype of the Baby K’tan Carrier was born as a homemade hybrid that improved and incorporated different aspects from other carrier models available.
With a background in marketing, Chesal soon realized that the attention she was getting for the carrier was a sign that she should take it to market.
Introduced in 2007, Baby K’tan has had an amazing 4 short years on the market. While the Baby K’tan carrier has grown in popularity partially because of its unique ready-to-wear hybrid design, the Baby K’tan brand has relied heavily on an in-depth social media campaign to propel the brand forward.
Since launching their Facebook Fan Page in 2009, Baby K’tan has gained almost 7,500 loyal fans that look forward to almost instant customer service, related content, reviews, promotions and giveaways.

She actively video blogs on lots of topics, as well as creates more formal videos with and without chroma key, records live events, and creates & markets videos for clients that are local or around the world. In 2009 she launched Simple Vlogging Tips site and live show through MomTV to encourage others to just vlog it. She has learned how to create a video presence that got her content to the front page of Google and YouTube. Online video did more for her online presence in 6 months than regular blogging did in a year; and she believes that online video can help any website or business. She formed Scenes and Cinema, LLC. for her work as video marketer and creator. She’d love to connect with you on Twitter @VloggingTips.

Karen J. RinehartKaren Rinehart is an award winning Syndicated newspaper columnist, blogger, grown daughter, Instant Caregiver, humorist, wife, mom, author, public speaker, dog owner and sorority girl–not necessarily in that order.
Called the 21st century’s Erma Bombeck, Karen’s columns about childrearing, marriage, her love of wine and most recently, taking care of her parents, have been in print and online since 2002 via Media General newspapers. Rinehart’s written two books, Invisible Underwear, Bus Stop Mommies and Other Things True To Life (2003) and Knitting With Hospital Gloves: The How-To Guide for Instant Caregivers (2011) addresses serious issues we’ll all face, but in Karen’s trademark humorous and easy to read style.
When not writing her next book or connecting with the world on Facebook and Twitter, Karen enjoys being a guest humorist and Instant Caregiving expert on TV and radio.
Rinehart has big plans for the Empty Nest years…but with two kids (whose company she actually enjoys) in college, aging parents and a husband in a new job 4 states away, she might have to rethink a few things–like eating and sleeping–but overall she’s excited about her (newest written and real life endeavor), My Second Half.

Abbie SchillerAbbie is the CEO and Founder of The Mother Company, a multi-platform children’s and parenting media company. The idea for The Mother Company came about when Abbie’s daughter was in preschool and she yearned to find stylish children’s show which would help teach her daughter important social and emotional issues. At the same time, she wanted a smart parenting site to answer her parenting questions using the best experts out there. Abbie partnered with Samantha Kurtzman-Counter (President, The Mother Company) to “help parents raise good people,” a mission that is infused into everything The Mother Company creates, from the award-winning “Ruby’s Studio” DVD series, to the accompanying children’s books and apps, and the helpful parenting website TheMotherCo.com.
The independently funded company addresses a concern with the content, quality, and pacing of media that children are exposed to at a young age. The answer is their “Ruby’s Studio” children’s series: a stylish, gentle alternative to what preschoolers are watching today. Abbie created the character Ruby, the magical host/children’s art teacher, as a cross between Mister Rogers and Mary Poppins. Each show in the series follows Ruby as she helps children explore a specific social or emotional issue such as friendship, siblings, and fear.
Additionally, The Mother Company is committed to helping parents find the tools and discussions to alleviate some of the stress of everyday parenting. The company’s parenting website (www.themotherco.com) features articles from world-renowned parenting experts such as Betsy Brown Braun, Dr. Dan Siegel, Dr. Laura Berman, and Dr. Michele Borba, among others.
Abbie brought thirteen years of experience in brand strategy, marketing, and public relations having worked as Vice President, Media Relations, ABC Daytime within the Disney-ABC Television Group, Vice President, Public Relations Worldwide for Kiehl’s, a subsidary of L’Oreal, and Vice President, Public Relations at Nike Communications, Inc.
At The Mother Company, Abbie oversees brand development, marketing, public relations, and sales. She works alongside Samantha to develop new “Ruby’s Studio” shows, books, songs, and products and works to ensure the magic of “Ruby’s Studio” reaches an entire generation of children and parents.
Abbie has a daughter who is now 7, growing as quickly as The Mother Company, and her son was born in October 2010, the same month “Ruby’s Studio” launched. Abbie is married to a very patient and understanding husband.
